After 33 years of clocking in and out of work and religiously saving 10% annually every year, in good times and bad, I have decided to share my monthly dividend income to show what regular saving and investing can accomplish.
For the month of October I made $3,520; an increase of +9.15% versus this time last year. It’s back to seeing bigger months and it feels good. I’m changing the look of my monthly posts just a bit and will focus strictly on dividends received and I now have included a list of each dividend paid.

Good job. That PPL is rocking. Like the new format. I like seeing what people get as dividends. Hope you like the ABBV October surprise we woke up to this morning.

Awesome results! Its interesting to see that the dividends you receive vary greatly, is that intentional? Or are some positions one time buys and never expanded upon?

Its a combination of factors, the bulk of my investments were made when I rolled over my old company 401K savings circa 2016 so at the time I made big $10K purchases so depending on the yield payouts will vary. I will say since I am older I leaned more towards conservative utilities which have higher payouts.
There are some I bought when I saw a low price and never added more shares as I didn’t see the value or adding more shares presented more risk.
Then there are some I am just starting to build. But I do not have a high paying job which makes my investment amounts small so positions grow slowly. Once my kids move out in about 6 years my expenses should drop dramatically and I’ll have more money to invest.
Today the bulk of my savings still goes into my new company’s $401K plan so when I leave that job I’ll have another pile of cash to invest 🙂
BTW how is the relocation to attic working out? Winter is coming so hoping it is heated.

Thank you Bert, At this stage of the game the largest jumps in income are coming from dividend raises. Just received another 8% raise from Merck so as you say the number speak for themselves.
